David M Bainbridge

Welcome to the website of International Freestyle Canoeist David Bainbridge.

David won his first European title 10 days after his final exam at secondary school when just 18 years old.  Now 21, David is studying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a full timetable and workload.  Despite this he is more determined than ever to combine his academic work with his athletic ability.

During his first year at University David was training to defend the European Championship title.  With great competitive flair David won every round of the knock-out final of the C1 category at the 2008 European Freestyle Championships in Ourense, Spain, earning the title of Two Times European Champion.

David’s focus for 2009 was the biggest prize in the sport; the World Championships held in Thun Switzerland in September.  David dominated the final.  This earned him the title of 2009 C1 World Champion.

Here you can find out what makes him tick, his competition results, ambitions and more...

David is currently a self funded athlete; if you are interested in supporting Britain's premier freestyle canoeist please contact him.
